Carlmac Industries turns to NetBase Technolgies
When Carlmac Industries, a leader in the composite wood fabrication
industry, found themselves in need of integrating new technology in their
office, they wanted a fellow industry leader to do the job. Owner Carl
McMurphy turned to Kenny Lance, owner of NetBase Technologies, for
all of his computer and software programming needs.
“NetBase was a natural choice for us,” said McMurphy. “As a fabricator of domestic and foreign wood composition board, we needed someone to tell us what we needed as far as computer systems and handle the installation for us,” said McMurphy.
Carlmac Industries services the furniture and cabinet industry, as well as the toy and game industry, fixture display industry and clip board manufacturers with composite wood, also serving as a wholesaler for the board. The diversity of their industry, including the diversity of the industries they service, demanded a system that was completely customized to meet their needs.
“Our business isn’t like everybody else’s business, so we couldn’t use a canned computer system that would work for everyone else. We always ended up with a lot of stuff we didn’t need,” said McMurphy. “I knew to be efficient we needed a personalized system specific to our business. I was able to tell NetBase the format and what reports we wanted and they made it happen. They researched our needs, worked closely with us, and in the end, we got exactly what we needed and wanted,” said McMurphy.
“I’m a believer in simpler is better,” said McMurphy. “I know the work could be done manually, but this is so much easier. NetBase has made our business better. This is so much faster and more efficient,” said McMurphy.
NetBase also provides Carlmac Industries with a service contract to meet all of their information technology needs. “All I do is call Kenny when we have a problem,” said McMurphy. “Most of the time, he can talk me through it on the phone. If they have to come out, they come promptly. They come in, know what’s wrong and it’s fixed,” said McMurphy.
